Graduate Underwriting Analyst

Salary: £16000 to £18000 £16000 - £18000 per annum + benefits

My client, a leading insurance company, has an exciting role for a recently qualified Graduate in their Underwriting Department for an Underwriting Analyst.

The core accountabilities will be to undertake analysis and assist in the control of an Underwriting Department directed by the Department Manager.

The successful candidate will work with claims handlers and underwriters on various technical issues, participate in submission of relevant software updates, account analysis, monitoring accuracy of premium calculations, analysing performance of accounts of brokers and analyse data for commercial vehicle and household accounts.

This will be a varied and fast paced role and my client needs a high calibre individual that thrives on pressure, able to interpret data quickly and correctly and enjoy working with people, with an outgoing and professional attitude.

Applicants must be educated to degree standard of either a 2:1 or 1st class honours degree in a Mathematical discipline or similar discipline to be considered. You must be able to display a high level of analytical skill including the ability to interpret and manipulate large data files as required. You must also be able to display strong IT skills and have the ability to use PC software including Excel / Access for the collation, analysis and presentation of information.

Applicants must also have excellent skills in time management, self motivation, working with minimal supervision and have a strong work ethic.
