Our client, a leading insurance company is seeking to recruit two Claims Inspectors to be based in the South and South West of England. There is currently a vacancy for the South Devon, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly area and another for the Hampshire area. However, alternatives could be considered to meet candidate and business needs.
Duties will include:
Investigate claims by obtaining statements and providing plans and photographs following accidents or losses on claims which may be the subject of claims to be made against the group.
To investigate issues of policy indemnity or possible FSA breaches with policy holders, also making enquiries with Agents and their staff and reviewing any available documentation.
Carrying out visits in response to complaints or other special matters with the aim of resolving issues
To provide investigation reports which are clear and concise with logical conclusions on policy and legal liability and also recommendations for further actions, estimates and cost effective settlements and promoting our non adversarial rehabilitation scheme where appropriate.
To liaise effectively with Claims colleagues, Underwriters, Management, Head Office, Solicitors, Agents, Policy holders, Suppliers and third parties.
Experience required
Good knowledge of Medico-Legal Compensation Law and preferably experience of outside investigations of liability cases and the taking of statements from policyholders and witnesses.
Required Qualifications
Professionally qualified and holding the Advanced Diploma in Insurance.
