This is a demanding, challenging and rewarding position for a recent Graduate looking for a career in the dynamic world of Commercial Insurance Broking. There is great responsibility within the role as the successful candidate will be advising Chief Executives, Managing Directors and Managers of Blue Chip companies, large industrial companies, successful businesses and dealing with their needs on insurance matters including risk management, determining the correct level of cover needed and building long lasting relationships with them to maintain and build business. Therefore you are responsible towards the profitability of your clients and your employer!

My client is now recruiting for a Trainee Insurance Broker and has a high expectation from the successful candidate. You will have either a 1st Class honours degree or a 2.1 Class in a respected discipline and my client is keen to interview Graduates who are looking for a rewarding and challenging career.

You will be required to complete professional qualifications and you will be expected to achieve the role of Account Executive in 4 to 5 years time.

Role Responsibilities Include:

• To administer and service existing corporate clients, which includes but is not limited to producing and issuing renewal documentation, thoroughly checking documents, preparing presentations to insurers, negotiating premiums with underwriters and processing amendments.

• To provide administrative support to account executives for the retention, maintenance and growth of their client accounts and to assist them in meeting monthly and annual targets.

• To support, where required, the account executives requirement to cross-sell insurance and approved non-insurance products according to the demands and needs of the existing clients and, where required, to assist them in the securing of new commercial business from client referrals or leads generated by the Company.

• To maintain thorough and accurate computer records of all events.

• Demonstrate during the training programme technical competence on mainstream commercial insurance classes.

• Foster good working relationships with all insurers.


Full training and support is provided for the successful candidate to ensure that you are confident and skilled in carrying out the relevant duties. The training is intense, so only hard working and dedicated individuals should apply.

Key Skills and Experience Required

• Competent business letter-writing skills

• Technically competent on Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook programs

• Good level of numeracy and spelling

• O Level or GCSE passes at English Language and Mathematics or the equivalent are essential

• Degree.

• Exceptionally accurate and thorough

• The ability to remain calm under pressure
