They now have a vacancy for a Graduate Trainee Development Underwriter.
The role will be working within their Leeds regional office and the successful candidate will be working alongside their Development Underwriting team where you will be trained and developed to be an underwriter dealing with their brokers and Private Clients. You will then be responsible for the risk management and pricing of your clients risks and insurable items, many of which will be fine art or high value goods. As your underwriting skills are developed you will eventually be responsible for finding, developing and gowing new business opportunities within the region. You will also identify opportunities to cross-sell and build the whole business.
This will develop to be a key role and you will be tasked with writing a minimum amount of business per year, develop close and effective relationships with brokers / clients and play a pivotal role in achieving more success in Leeds / Yorkshire.
To be considered for the role, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate and have the necessary qualifications and attributes:
-Degree qualified to a minimum of 2:1 honours with a minimum of 2 A Levels at Grade C or above
-Experience of at least 1 year in a commercial insurance background or a sales based role in Financial Services or other industries where you have had exposure to sales and development. (office based roles will be also be considered).
-Demonstrable drive, self motivation and determination to achieve results
-Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills combined with a proven track record of relationship management and customer focus
-Strong influencing, negotiation and leadership skills
