New consultant joins Exchange Street
Dave Porthouse MRICS, MBEng, ACILA, ACII
Dave`s early career was spent in the Construction Industry, where qualified as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) in 1981 after studying at Manchester College of Building.
In 1984, he joined a national Loss Adjusting company and then began to deal with all types of building related insurance claims including major loss. He became a qualified Building Engineer (MBEng) in 1985 and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Insurance (ACII) during in 1987. After progressing to Regional Surveyor with Millers Loss Adjusters, he qualified as a Loss Adjuster (ACILA) in 1992 before leaving Millers to become a founder Partner in Garsides Chartered Loss Adjusters. In 1998, Garsides were purchased by McLarens Chartered Loss Adjusters where he was both an Associate Director and also Head of Subsidence for the North West Region prior to them becoming part of the Capita Group.
Dave left Capita McLarens in 2002 and together with his former colleague Steve Hunt, formed PMC UK Property Solutions Ltd, a firm of Chartered Engineers and Surveyors, specialising in the resolution of Subsidence/Buildings claims for Insurers.
In late 2011, Dave accepted the position of Loss Adjusting, Project Management & Surveying Consultant with Exchange Street Claims Ltd, where he now specialises in the recruitment of Engineers, Surveyors, Contracts Managers and Loss Adjusters to positions both Home and Abroad.
